I was assigned to a containerized commcenter at the IV Corps TOC compound in town for a couple of weeks. It appeared to be an ARVN compound because all the guards were ARVN. We would pull 12 hours in this "mobile" center, eating C-rations and cooling our Cokes on the air conditioning units by hooking em with a coat hanger. Most of the time, the ARVN guards were sleeping on duty and we always wondered whether we would ever know if the compound was attacked because we were basically locked inside this commcenter for 12 hours. Two guys were assigned and I believe we had two circuits, but it could have been more. I seem to remember that the compound was just south of the Vietnamese church that has the swastiki symbol. Jim
