I remember well the barracks and I do indeed thank you and your Engineers for the fine construction. I recall that, towards the end of my tour,(April69-April 70)- we were given lumber and such to convert the barracks over to cubicles. The barracks building parties were renown. What with the bizarre brews emenating from the coolers-each guy brought his own bottle of whatever and added it to the soup-and the endless supply of beer-I really don't know how we got the walls up-but it came out looking pretty good. Once finished, we had two man rooms. Felt almost like human beings after that. I do want to wish all my brothers a good Memorial Day, and I do offer profound thanks to those wonderful men who did NOT make it back to the world.
