I too remember the two entree choices at Eakin Compound. Ate there several times a week as I lived downtown. Once, the choices were "yankee potroast" or "southern fried chicken." I thought the mess sergeant was trying to stir up the Civil War again.
Was a pilot for the 156th Avn. Co. (RR) July 67 to July 68. Lived in a hotel near the traffic circle and rarely went all the way back out to the airfield for dinner.
