Ya know, Jim. I'm glad you mentioned those night mortar attacks.
While I was in Can Tho, we were mortared six times. Each of those times, everyone seemed to be headed for the decrepit bunkers BEFORE the first one hit! We would asked those on guard how many rounds hit and we always heard them all while we were moving. Fortunately, most of the rounds hit near the runway and, as I recall, there were minor injuries.
