Hi Dan, Good to hear from you. One thing I hadn't considered was that some guys could have still been in the old Mecong Hotel after the time the guys I was with moved to the airfield. It's possible that troops were still billited in the old Mecong Hotel after the initiall movement of troops to the airfield.

When I first went to the airfield they did not yet have any of the two story billits that I see in some of the pictures on the Delta Dragon site. I recall that barrachs construction was still going on when I left and I guess that's when some of the two story billets went up.

I was in 2 motor attacks, one being in Saigon just 2 days before I went home in 1966. During my 2 tours 2 hotel were blown up in Can Tho and one Air Force office was bombed during the middle of the day.

Naturally the 13th Battalion was always taking casualties during the combat operations. Several of the guys I knew were KIA and still to this day I feel a great sadness when I think about them. If I can help out with any other information please let me know. Did you know a Staff Sgt. Lindsey? He worked in the Battalion HQ and spoke fluent Vietnamese. I don't recall his first name anymore.
