FYI - The last rocket attack (before U.S. forces left)occured on 27 Jan 73 at aprox. 0750 hrs, ten minutes before the Paris Cease-Fire was to go into effect. Rockets fell on taxiways, the main runway & between revetments. As a WO1 A/C, I was cranking a UH-1H and did my first backwards takeoff out of a revetment, as the 122's were "walking" towards our Huey. The VC/NVA stopped firing at the same time we heard AFVN announce that it was "08:00 hrs and the war is over!" Always have guessed that the shooters were listening to the same announcer!
