I departed Can Tho one month earlier so was not there for the fly-by, but am glad to hear about it. I remember Major Munson very well. He was the kind of CO that deserved fly-by recognition.
I was present, though, for some other sky-high shenanigans. Once on the day of the Army-Navy football game, a Navy chopper buzzed Can Tho Army compounds to drop "Beat Army" leaflets. I don't remember the outcome of the contest, but I shall never forget the stunt.
