I arrived at Soc Trang and the "Shotguns" at the end of TET 68. My flight school roommate, Joe Wolf was also on board. I was part of the 3d platoon. Joe was killed near Bac Lieu in late April. I took over as sector lead at Vi Thanh, Choung Thien Provience (MACV Tm 58/73). When not flying missions, we were participating in operations with MACV, SOG, RF/PF. Returned to the States in March 1969. My call sign was Shotgun 35; I was a Captain at that time. Close to a thousand hours flight time. 68 was a very tough year!
