I believe the referenced action took place at the same time Vinh Long was hit with mortars and small arms fire. We received a lot of damaged A/C at the 611th that came from Can Tho after this event. I had a bullet hole in my maint.office wall after the night attack.A pilot that I met about 17 years later was seriously wounded at Vinh Long by a mortar round explosion.Some of you may have known Cpt. Barry Smith.
