Hello Francis. Good to hear from another Lonely Ringer. I don't recall your name but I'd probably remember the face if you were there during the same time I was (Apr '68-Mar '69). Do you remember McMurtry in flight Ops. I think he left our shop in late 68 to work in your shop.

Sounds like you had a rather intriguing job in Germany. What was your MOS?

You probably remember a lot of the pilot's names from that era. The OIC of the CE shop was one of our pilots assigned the OIC job as an extra duty. The only thing I can remember we ever called him was Peter Pilot. We finally got a 285A warrant officer named Benson who took over the shop. The only other pilot's name I remeber from Can Tho was an elderly pilot named Gehran. Called him Pappy (of course) and he flew B17s during WWII. I believe he was 50 years old at that time. We ended up at Huachuca together training ARDF pilots.

Thanks again for the response Francis. Take care.

Terry
