I recall Major Greene very well, but not with favor. He killed my application to CIC for lack of "military appearance". Given that those guys all wear civies, I don't see what that had to do with anything. He also killed the award of the Solider's Medal to a guy on the flightline who saved someone from buring the death with Av Gas because the victim was Vietnamese not American. . West Point, but his career was in the dumper. The fixed wing pilots were the guys who washed out of chopper school for the most part. I don't recall Greene wore parachutists wings and a Ranger tab, so his chances of making flag rank were very slim. On the other hand, as I recorded elsewhere, he did stand up the Airfield Commander when that gentleman tried to insoect the Ops Center. Greene was very by the book as opposed to Miller and Munson, who were laid back guys trying to get inenovught time so thay could retire.
