Tozzi is another name I remember. Seems like I remember him being the NCOIC of the C&E Maintenance shop on and off when I first got there in March '68. Then SSG Fred Von Haden came in and he remained the NCOIC until after I left.
There was a time when I was in the 156th that I enjoyed drawing and I had a cartoon character that I drew...kind of a short timer character that was mostly boots and steel pot. Some how Fred talked me into doing a bunch of posters that had different comical themes that could be hung around the company area, apparently to promote espre or something. Unbeknownst to him, all of my drawings had FTA (not your normal future lifer attitude was it?)interwoven in the grass or some other detail of the drawing. When it got out that the FTA was in each one of these posters it become somewhat of a challenge for everyone to try and find all of them. I remember when Fred found out about it I caught 10 kinds of hell and he went all over the company area trying to police them up. I think the only one he didn't get back was one that was in the SCIF. Interesting times.
