Evans was killed in a mid-air collision between one of the Beavers and a Huey. The exact cause was not known to us but the Huey appeared to have struck the Beaver from above and behind. the left wing and empanage were cut off. The pilot was said to have been cut in two by the impact. The person in the co-pilot seat was not a pilot but could not have done anything anyway. I picked up the log book from the Medivac helicopter to verify it was ours. The medic was very upset. They had seen the aircraft go down but not the collision. He thought that the two passengers had survived the crash but drowned or sufficated in the mud. the aircraft went down under full power.

I thought the tail number was 378 but the list of tail numbers has all 17. I have a picture on the flight line with some of the tail numbers and names written on it. Unfortunately it is not complete. The tail number 3724 has a very light x on it so it may be the one crashed and 378 would have been the replacement.
