I just ran across your 2003 post. I was with the 235th when we went into Cambodia both off the island in the Sea of Siam and through Chau Doc later in 1971. Pretty interesting stuff. Nothing like a long flight over open ocean in a single engine helicopter to land with less than fifteen minutes of fuel to get you focused. I was Devil 9 on my second tour with the Devils. I ran the operations into Cambodia out of Chi Lang. Was one of the original pilots that came to VN with the unit. 1st tour 67-68 my call sign was Satan 18. Incidentally, in the spring of 71 we went up to Hue-Phu Bai and I got to go into Laos (Lamson 719), as well. Had the pleasure of living in a tent at Khe Sahn where the big artillery fell. The two three five was a hell of unit that really didn't get much credit for all we did. Hope this gets to you. One of my good friends first tour was a Death Dealer first tour, Keith Bryant, we hooked up again while I was up in Phu Bai. He was flying ARA with the 101st. He was killed in the Laotian incursion and his remains not returned until in the nineties. Let me tell you both Laos and Camboida were something else. We did some good shooting against the Kyhmer Rouge.
