Don: I'm glad this was helpful. I had my surgery and my vision is now about 500% better even with the old glasses. The doctor I talked to backed off the retina damage affiliation a little. Seems that there is a specific kind called "bulls eye", but there was also a weird thing that happened when he shined a light in my eye and asked me to read letters from the display. I couldn't see them; it was like there was a coat of white paint over most of them. I think that they either haven't put all the pieces together on this problem or are trying to deny responsibility for it. There is a VA study on this, which this doctor hadn't heard of. Much wierdness. As you've probably read elsewhere on this site, I was a clerk. No big deal. I'm seeing fine to work on the computer, which is what counts.
