Dale R. Stith, 1 of the 2 Lockheed contractors who brought the QT-2PCII 'Bat Planes' to Soc Trang has 2 websites worth visiting: "www.prizecrew.org" and "www.quietaircraft.org" Lots of pictures of the crews and plane, etc. These goofy-looking planes were made to fly 'low and slow' at night. Their radar-absorbent paint, muffled engine, Starlight scope, etc., all made for a big step forward in what we now call 'Stealth Technology.' You also have to credit the guys who flew them (pilots and observers) for having brass 'cojones' as this aircraft was unarmed, usually below 1,000 feet and was unarmed. After the planes were returned to Moffett Field in mid-'68, I did avionics repairs and installations for the 121st and 336th AHC's as well as for the 221st Shotgun RAC and the Dustoffs at Soc Trang...and Proud To Have Served!
