Bob, you owe me a t-shirt! Hope you're well and it didn't wreck your bowling game. That was just one of the many things that we had to endure while "in harm's way". Unfortunately, through no fault of your own, you experienced, first hand, the vagaries of war. Just think of all the accidents that occurred while we were at Can Tho. One newbie came into my "room" and said "all I want to do is kill one of them." Within three months, he was shot while climbing into a deuce & a half on the way to midnight chow. Point is: strange things happened in the war zone...definitely beyond anyone's control. The midair collision, surviving the grenade, being downtown instead of on guard at the ammo dump or shooting off the rockets by accident are all examples of incidents that several hazardous events combining. Sorry for running on....and forget the shirt...I've grown well beyond the medium I used to wear!
