A note to all that requested Email listings in the past few weeks.  Thanks to Chuck for pointing out to me that his Email listing was not setup as a hot button for Email. When I checked on his, I also notice several of the people that I had recently listed were the same way.  I just went through my old Emails and re plugged the Emails into the ones that I found on the listing not truly setup properly.  I am not sure if the system did this or my few brain cells.  If it had just been Chuck's listing, I would think I made an Oops, but with 3 or 4 not setup I think I may have had some help from a system hiccup.

If you see this recur in the future, just yank my chain and I will correct it again.

Oh, while working on the Awards page that I just put up for 1st SGT Joe White, I noticed something interesting about the RVN Gallantry Cross for units in RVN.  It seems the RVN issued them to all units that were there, so it appears that everyone serving with a parent unit in RVN is eligible for the Gallantry Cross "Unit" Citation ribbon.  But not the Medal unless the Medal was presented to them.  At least that is the way I interpret par. 3 and 5 at the Army site below:

  3. Criteria: a. U.S. Military units were individually cited for award of the Republic of Vietnam (RVN) Gallantry Cross; however, the Vietnamese Government issued the award to all units subordinate to Military Assistance Command (MACV) during the period 8 February 1962 and 28 March 1973 and to U.S. Army Vietnam and its subordinate units for the period 20 July 1965 to 28 March 1973. This permits all personnel who served in Vietnam to wear the RVN Gallantry Cross unit citation.
   5. Background: a. The RVN Gallantry Cross was established by the Vietnam Government by Decree No. 74-b/Qt, dated 15 August 1950 and Decree No. 96/DQT/HC, dated 2 May 1952. Authorization for all U.S. Army personnel was confirmed in HDQA General Orders No. 8, dated 19 March 1974.
