Just remembering some of the strange pets guys had ( ducks, toads,monkeys etc.). The strangest I came across was on guard duty in the NCO barracks area. It was about 2AM and I came across this "dog house" with a thick chain in front of it. I passed it several times and finally decided to put that damned shotgun ( that's another story) down and pull on the chain to see what kind of dog it was. Well, to my surprise,after afew grunts and growns out came this black bear madder than hell that I woke him out of his bear dreams! Needless to say, I never bothered him again! Does anyone remember this bear??? He may have been handed down for many years.
