To all former members of the 13th Aviation Battalion units.,

I have been approached by members of the present day 1st Battalion, 13th Regiment at Ft. Rucker, Alabama about the possibility of their hosting a 13th Combat Aviation Battalion Reunion. With my offer to assist in the efforts, I have been requested to try and get the work out about the possible reunion so they can see if enough related organizations and/or personnel would be interested in attending a 13th CAB Reunion.

Below I am including one of the Email conversations about the possible Reunion with Maj. Matthews. I have setup a 13th CAB Reunion web Discussion area under the Can Tho Delta Dragon web site for all to use to share notes and desires for this Reunion.

I am also including a link to a composite list of Aviation Companies that I can identify as being part of the 13th CAB at one time or another, other than HHC 13th CAB.

This list is a smaller composite of a Timeline of related evens that I composed from information furnished by 1st SGT Joseph White, John L Jones and two of Ralph Young's Aviation books.

Please assist this effort by responding to Maj. Matthews about a 13th CAB Reunion and please forward this Email to all 13th CAB related organizations and personnel. The list of related companies was put together to assist identifying the pertinent companies. The list is not complete and feedback of additions is requested, but it is the best composite I could generate within a short timeframe.

If you receive multiple mailings of this note from me, please bare with me because I will be sending it to many of my Email lists in order to achieve maximum distribution.

Joe,

Great to hear from you. Thank-you for your interest and willingness to help support us in this endeavor. We have zero details today, we were simply asked by a local veteran if we would ever consider having a reunion. The commander said look into it, and that is were we are right now. I can tell you that we would like to have it this fall and here at Fort Rucker, AL.

Funds are extremely limited for this type of event so we would have to do some serious scrounging and silver tongue selling to help get the required support. Any ideas you have about any aspect of this are greatly appreciated. I would ask of you to first put out your feelers to see if we could get a response on any established 13th CAB organizations and individual's willingness to attend a reunion type function this fall, OCT-early DEC time frame. Please include my information as I am the unit representative and coordinator for this event should it take place.

I sincerely appreciate your help. Please, let me know if you have any ideas on any part of this reunion campaign.

Again, thank-you!
