While I despise Jane Fonda and believe sh should have served jail time for her actions in North Vietnam, I should inform everyone that there are several inaccurate statements in Dan Fowler's message.

The tale of the spitting incident and the serviceman severely beaten for it is often attributed to Col. Jerry Driscoll. He has repeatedly stated on the record that this story did not originate with him.

The "slips of paper" incident involving Col. Larry Carrigan is, in the colonels own words, "a figment of somebodys imagination - I have never met Jane Fonda."

Before we flood the nation with the Fonda e-mail I suggest you check out www.snopes2.com. This is a web site designed to expose internet hoaxes. At the web site, slick on the "military" icon, then go to "search" and type in "Jane Fonda". There are 8 pages about her, including what is in Mr. Fowler's e-mail. At the bottom of about page 4 there is a section called "Origins"--READ IT.

We don't need to continue these stories. Fonda can be condemned by the truth alone.
