You may also want to thank a Vietnamese man who worked with U.S. Air Force Intelligence (OSI), my Air Force Office in Can Tho. I won't reveal his name because he worked in our counterintelligence operation. After I left, I wondered if he ever got out of the country before the communists got to Can Tho. I worried about what the NVA and Viet Cong would do to him. Excellent confidential sources have indicated to me that he never got out. It is believed that he is in a government political prison located somewhere in IV Corp (Mekong Delta) and was given life in prison. He knew the risks he was taking. I don't think Air Force Intelligence did enough to get him to the U.S.A. before it was too late. He was a brave man who may have ended up sacraficing his freedom to defend the Thieu Government. I think of him often. You should think of him, and thank him, too.
