hello Jim, I operated one of the lights but it was after your time. I was there from '71-'72. You were right about the lights and the binoculars as being awsome. It was like seeing at noon time. you could see every blade of grass and of course everything that moved. We got to be good friends with all the guards at the gates because we had to go in and out all the time. Our compound was off the main post near the arvn gate. Maybe we could have hooked up if it had been at the same time. But at least it's good to talk to someone that was actually there. I guess you know it's hard to explain it to the family. you'd have to be there to get the real picture. keep in touch.
