Everybody have a great Memorial Day! The memorial honoring the World War II soldiers opening in DC this weekend was LONG OVERDUE. My father died in 1990. He also landed on Utah Beach on D-Day with the US Army. He was also part of the 28th Division that caught hell both before and during the Battle of the Bulge. He should have been around to have seen the WWII Memorial. We can never thank AMERICA's GREATEST GENERATION enough. The men fought a 2 front war and the women made it possible for victory by going into the defense plants and building the planes, tanks, jeeps, and all other armaments of war. I really agree when they say they were America's Greatest Generation.

I'm sorry to say that I believe that the American people of today (our generation) fall short of the ideals, toughness, and sacrifice of that generation. I find it hard to believe that if the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor today that you would see masses trying to enlist in the Army/Navy/Marines/Air Force like they did in 1941.

It's a different era now and in some ways we fall short of that generation.
