Just thought that I'd post some comments about the Sons and Daughters in touch gathering this past weekend in Washington D.C.

Arrived on Friday afternoon at the hotel and met Tina McNeill (JJ's Daughther - James Johnson, Jr KIA Feb 6,1968) and introduced myself. Then met Stu Boaz, Rojer Johnson and Bob Ronje (Co A, 52nd Sig Bn) I was in a different MOS than these fellas, but my barracks was located right next to theirs. It was the first time I had met them, and it was certainly a pleasure! The folks that put together this event did a wonderful job, and all Veterans were welcome to attend. There were 'sharing circles' and historical sessions for those that wished to attend. At 10 PM we all went to the 'Wall' and it is quite an experience at nite, no tourists around and the quietness.

On Saturday was the banquet and a video was shown that left nary a dry eye in the place. I also met Walt Helhowski and Sam Cohen of the 52nd Sig Bn, CO A.

On Sunday there was a Ceremony at the wall for all members of SDIT and thier families (Veterans were also welcome) It was a very emotional day to say the least. A single rose was given to each participant with a personal message.

I will be looking forward to keeping in touch with Tina, Stu, Roger, Bob, Walt and Sam. I only wish we had more time to spend together! It was a weekend I will never forget!
