I read the col.'s book shortly after it was published. It should be a must read for every vet with an intellectual frame of mind. But I recently heard that winning that battle was probably the worst thing that could have happened. It convinced the damn fool politicians that if they were willing to kill enough of US, they could win the war..... I don't wish to blacken the memory of all the brave and not so brave men who served and sacrificed there there, but I have never escaped the feeling that we were badly used.....
