That was a COMSEC van between the Commcen and the DCO. I was assigned there from 12/68 until 12/69. The unit was there when I arrived and was called the 706 Signal Detachment. It's name was changed to the 2nd COMSEC Logistic Support Unit (CLSU), 1st Signal Center, in early 69. The name was later changed to 2nd CLSU, 57 Signal Company (COMMSEC Logistic Support) in late 69. When I left, the unit was relocated to another spot on the airfield while new buildings were constructed. When the new buildings were finished the unit returned to its original location. I have photos of the before, during, and after construction. Photos of the new construction were sent to me by one of the officers. The 57th Signal Company (CLS) was HQed at Long Binh, but had detachments in all four Corps areas of Vietnam.
