Gentlemen, I have read your stories of '68 Tet with great intertest. Much of what you have said is in THE PUCKER FACTOR, my Viet Nam memiors. As Battalion Photographer, I saw first hand the results of the attack and our defense of the airfield. I also came in-country with your unit photographer and served with him at the 20th Bde HQS. He was a very nice guy but not the brightest coloring pencil in the box. He had worked for years in the Ft Bragg's photo hobby shop before going to 'Nam. I was the Eng Bde's Information Sergeant and he was the shutterbug until he pissed the CG off by call him "Bud". We worked in the PIO together. I took a great many photos of the field that day after Tet. There were 69 bodies that the ARVN loaded in a 2 1/2 ton truck that morning with many more bodies popping up in the water bogs days afterwards. One VC had gotten under one of your road scrappers and died there. He had explosives strapped to his chest. The ARVN removed his body very carefully as to not set off the charges. See you in the fuuny papers. God bless.
