I was with the USAF Office of Special Investigations (OSI) from 69-70 in Can Tho. We sometimes worked closely with the Army Criminal Investigations Division (CID) in the Hotel #3 compound in downtown Can Tho. Many times there was a sharing of information between our organizations. I know that the Army CID agents traveled to many locations in the Delta region (Binh Thuy, Vinh Long, My Tho, etc.). During my tour of duty, there was never a mention of any such activity involving a 69th Engineers Battalion. If such an investigation or inquiry about atrocities commited by an Army unit was going on, certainly the Army CID unit in Can Tho would have been involved. Such investigative activity was shared between the USAF OSI Agents and the Army CID agents. We sometimes worked closely with them....they were 1 floor below us in the Hotel #3 Compound. Even though this had supposedly occurred a year earlier, some mention of this happening would have occurred between our agents and the Army's agents. This all sounds like a bunch of b-u-l-l-s-h-i-t.
