I was not old enough to be in nam bu i felt it's effects. My father and my stepfather both were deeply effected by it so therefore it affected me. I didn't quite understand any of it until I had hit my late 20's early 30's. When you hear a grown man scream in his sleep because of the things that happened to him in nam is unnerving as a child. To many people didn't back our soldiers during that time. I THINK THAT WAS WRONG!!!! AND IF JANE FONDA WAS NOT A PATRIOT AT HTE TIME THEN PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW. I'm only middle class so I'm sure my opinion doesn't mean squat. But, I've seen what nam has done to two different men first hand. One man isn't capable of telling you of how he feels, he hides behind anything he can find. The other used alcohol and usesd to come home drunk and drag me into the back yard to show me what the green berets had showed him. I know they both loved me, but nam messed them up on how to deal with a teenage boy. Now we have his crisis with OSAM O BIN LADEN, we should have been this supporive of our troops in nam. I'm now old enough I don't ave to worry about being drafted. But you know what, If I felt I could make a difference for my country and they wouldlet me than I would in a heartbeat. If that meant my country telling to pick up a gn,than I would. It's that simple. How much do you love your way of life. I love this country with all My HEART. So Miss Jane Fonda I hope for your soles sake what I've read is wrong and you have a clear conscounce.
