Anyone else there during that period? I was a two/three-striper then. Black 6'6". Remembering, George Rivera (Black Rican ... and my best friend back then}, Price (with his silky singing voice (Black}, Tyler (or, some other name starting with a "T" ... and who was from the south and not very liking of white folks}, and a cute little hispanic guy by the name of Domingues. (Later in Thailand, someone told me that Domingues got shot and killed in one of our observation towers.
I'll never forget "10-66". I think there were 283 motor/recoiless gun attacks during my 365 'nights' at Bihn Thuy. And during Tet, it seemed like every few minutes CSC (Tiger Control?) was notifying "all posts and patrols" that Victor Charles was hitting another base. There, when the sun went down you couldn't help thinking "This may be my last one", and, "It don't mean nothing'. Rats like something out of Jurassic Park.
