"Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori", we remember this maxim, but who wants to live it? Our existence on the 'outside' gives us the comfort we have always wanted and aspired to. Now that we are 'out' and safe, how do we view the 'insiders'? Well, the 'insiders' are still on guard protecting us, whether in the Asia Minor, Europe, the recent Afghanistan/Iraq theatre or stateside, our guys are still there! The jobs are not getting any easier, and we should spend a moment and reflect on the jobs they have. And on our comrades. "Palmam qui meruit ferat" was said when my outfit did a good job in WWll a long time ago. I wasn't with them then, I was still too young, but my spirit was, I believe! Please join me in thanking our boys and girls overseas for a 'job well done', and come home safe! Denny D.L.Werk, Sr. formerly: 1BG/26th Infantry Always a 'Blue Spader'
