I was stationed with about two dozen guys who manned that terminal and air freight depot at Vung Tau. Seems like yesterday! Who else can say they learned to surf in Vietnam, thanks to the Aussie's and their array of beach stuff. Great food, that ugly rusted beached tanker, the views from that mountain overlooking the beaches, the R&R center, whole families riding on those Honda 50's and the big bucks spent on "saigon tea" to have the company of a local beauty. Ah, Vung Tau. My best to the men of Detachment 1 and al who served.............
