I was a parachute rigger (original MOS was 11B) that had applied for a transfer to the 1st Division Pathfinder detachment. At the time I applied for transfer, I was with an air delivery company (109th AD) at Cam Ranh. My transfer request went through, but not to the pathfinders. I was transferred to I Co (Ranger) 75th Infantry at Lai Khe (to work in my original MOS). While there, your lieutenant found out I was assigned there and arranged for me to come down to Phu Loi TDY to get your chutes repacked. I repacked all the mains and reserves, then we jumped out all the mains just outside the wire at Phu Loi. I repacked all the mains and got sent back to Lai Khe.

The period I was there was about a week or so in May or June of 1969.

I can only remember one guy's name: Easterling. The reason I remember it, we both processed through Long Binh to go home and I have a photo of him and his name tag.

Our Company (I Co) has a reunion every two years, with a pretty decent turn out each time.
